The recipe is an homage to the original Munyon’s PawPaw tonic created in 1903 by Dr. James Munyon, the most spectacular and successful proprietor in the history of patent medicine. Dr. James Munyon’s premier place to promote and distribute his elixir was Hotel Hygeia, located on Munyon Island in Palm Beach County.
